Veronica Roth at Tribeca Barnes & Noble

Tuesday, I got to see Veronica Roth at the Tribeca Barnes & Noble and I’m so glad I did. Roth is the author of the “Divergent” series, which I have quickly come to love. The summary for the first book is:

In a future Chicago, 16-year-old Beatrice Prior must choose among five predetermined factions to define her identity for the rest of her life, a decision made more difficult when she discovers that she is an anomaly who does not fit into any one group, and that the society she lives in is not perfect after all.

Veronica Roth was warm, friendly, and took time to answer questions about her writing process and inspirations. Barnes & Noble also did an excellent job of making the book signing portion of the event as painless as possible. They kept the line moving at a steady pace and no one had to wait too long. If you haven’t read Divergent (book 1) or Insurgent (book 2), I highly recommend them both. There will be a 3rd book in the series but the release date is unknown.
